Study on the efficient and environmental friendly physical distribution using eco route map (reduction of CO2 emission and load on the roadside environment)

BACKGROUND & PURPOSE OF PROJECT

In this project, we drew out an "Environmental Friendly Route Map (Eco Route Map)", indicating an overview of CO2 emissions on main roads and areas with a problematic roadside concentration of CO2. We also considered the ideal system whereby transit companies can use this map to reduce the level of CO2 emissions and the load on the roadside environment.

CHARACTERISTICS, CONCEPT, STANCE & SKILLS OF PROJECT

This project aims to:
1. Collect data regarding the speed, acceleration and route of freight trucks owned by transit companies by installing an EMS device on the vehicles.
2. Analyze the level of CO2, NOx and SPM emissions, the concentration of NO2 and the level of fuel consumption in Tokyo's 23 wards by using collected EMS data and roadside environmental data obtained from existing monitoring stations.
3. Plan and hold review meetings to investigate the output image of the Eco Route Map.
