Basic Planning of Erosion Control in the Area above the Reservoir for 2006 (Development of Earth and Sand Movement Analysis Model for Erosion Control Basic Planning)

BACKGROUND & PURPOSE OF PROJECT

This project aimed to develop a new basic erosion control plan on the basis of temporal and spatial variations in soil movement and the characteristics of soils in the area above four dams.

CHARACTERISTICS, CONCEPT, STANCE & SKILLS OF PROJECT

We defined a soil movement analysis model and increased its accuracy in order to prepare plans regarding facility arrangements and development plans. We also confirmed the reproducibility of the analysis model by comparing results with results of soil movement derived from river channel sedimentation and erosion conditions interpreted based on reservoir sedimentation, particle size distribution within the reservoir and aerial photographs, results of hearings into the state of soil movement and actual measurement data of erosion control dams.
