On March 24, 2021, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), Japan awarded two YEC engineers for their outstanding performance and valuable contribution toward the success of their respective infrastructure development projects overseas, as follows:

1) 2020 Minister's Award for Outstanding International Infrastructure Engineer to Mr. Takashi Toyoda for The Project for the Planning of the Nadi River Flood Control Structures in the Republic of Fiji

2) 2020 Minister's Encouragement Award for Outstanding International Infrastructure Engineer to Mr. Tomohiro Umeki for the Project for Enhancement of Integrated Water Resources Management in the Republic of the Sudan
