Upgrade social infrastructure
ICT has become an important social infrastructure that has spread to every aspect of modern society, and it can help solve various problems. Therefore, we improve technology for collecting, analyzing, evaluating, and sharing information and develop solutions to dramatically improve the efficiency and convenience of people's lives and society as a whole.
ICT
ICT supports people's daily lives in different ways, such as efficiently collecting and disseminating traffic congestion information and disaster information. In this way, damage to people's live and social infrastructure are prevented or minimized.
We study, develop and operate hardware / software and network systems in various fields such as systems for managing social infrastructure including rivers and dams, databases of various information, disaster prevention, and mitigation support systems against damage from typhoons, flood, and other disasters.
BIM/CIM
The “i-Construction” promoted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism aims at improving productivity at construction sites by making full use of ICT (Information and Communication Technology). For this purpose, it is regarded essential to promote business utilizing 3D data which is collectively known as Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Civil Information Modeling (CIM).
We proactively incorporate BIM / CIM in business, try to accumulate knowledge and technology related to BIM / CIM, and aim to improve productivity by upgrading and improving quality in a series of construction production systems from planning / design to construction / maintenance management.
Communication
Information and communication facilities, such as the Internet and digital terrestrial TV broadcasting are commonly accessible to people. In the event of a disaster, they play an important role in gathering various information and effectively disseminating it to the public. With the frequent occurrence of disasters, it is even more important to utilize optical networks and communication / broadcasting facilities.
We focus on the development of not only these infrastructure facilities, but also a new operation model that integrates communication and broadcasting, and actively engage in research, design and planning to contribute to the creation of a safe and secure country.
