Yachiyo Engineering Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Taito-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: TAKAHASHI Tsutomu) has established a local subsidiary, "Yachiyo Nigeria Co. Ltd" in Abuja, Nigeria. An opening ceremony was held on September 3, 2026, to commemorate the occasion.
The ceremony was attended by approximately 50 guests representing 30 companies and organizations, including H.E. Mr. SUZUKI Hideo, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Nigeria, as well as representatives from local government agencies. The guests offered warm congratulations on the establishment of the local subsidiary, expressing strong confidence in Yachiyo Engineering's track record and high expectations for the future development of both countries.
Since commencing operations in Nigeria in 2000, Yachiyo Engineering Co., Ltd. has engaged in various Official Development Assistance (ODA) projects with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for over 25 years. Starting with rural electrification and school construction projects, the company has provided extensive infrastructure development support in diverse fields, including water resources management master planning, power distribution network reinforcement, medical waste management, and urban master planning.
Through the establishment of Yachiyo Nigeria Co. Ltd, Yachiyo Engineering Co., Ltd. will further strengthen cooperation with local government agencies, international financial institutions, and private companies. This initiative aims to accelerate business expansion in West Africa while delivering infrastructure solutions that contribute to the sustainable development of local communities.
