On July 1, 2021, Yachiyo Engineering Co., Ltd. (YEC) opened its first office in Vietnam after years of providing consulting services for official development assistance (ODA) projects in the country. The said office is located in Ngo Quyen District in Hai Phong City, and is directed by Mr. Gaku Adachi as its Chief Representative.

YEC has undertaken projects in Vietnam in the past 20 years mainly in the sectors of solid waste management, road and railway planning, disaster risk management, and ITC. Recently in May 2021, YEC has successfully completed services for the Detailed Design & Tender Assistance for Civil Works and Construction Supervision for Gia Minh Solid Waste Treatment Complex under Hai Phong Sewerage, Drainage and Solid Waste Management Project, which is a major JICA loan project implemented by the Hai Phong People's Committee.

The establishment of the Vietnam office is strategic for YEC to further strengthen its business operations in Vietnam not only for ODA projects, but also to expand into local consulting services (non-ODA) catering the Vietnamese government as well as the private sector.
