Yachiyo Engineering Co., Ltd. (YEC) is pleased to announce that it has set medium- to long-term targets for achieving carbon neutrality to reduce greenhouse gases (GHGs), a major contributor to global warming.

On July 19, 2022, we submitted a commitment letter to the SBT Initiative (SBTi*1), an organization that certifies science-based targets (SBTs*2), and announced our plans to obtain SBT certification within two years.

To contribute to the SDGs, we have adopted a corporate policy on sustainability management, which we are applying in our work as a general construction consultant to reduce the environmental impact of our client's businesses, as well as our power and heat supply businesses, therefore reducing society's environmental impact as a whole.

To help in decarbonizing our society, we will work toward reducing GHG emissions in our own corporate activities as well through our supply chain with procurement reforms, such as renewable energy procurement and green purchasing.
